Perspectives of different groups
Wahroonga residents perspective
Wahroonga residents are mostly against the development because of the stacks but not all of them. This is demonstrated by the graph below that has been formed by the survey I did of 28 residents on the 9/914.
For
The woman that I talked to said the following regarding her position on the Northconnex development which is for
•The damages were being over exaggerated
•That the tunnel is desperately needed
•The stacks won’t have any harm
•The some people who are protesting against it are using scare tactics

Against
The majority of Wahroonga resident that I talked to are against the development, they said the following:
•A woman who has asthma is concerned for her health
•A teenage girl is worried about her grandparents health as they live even closer to the stacks than her self
•A man said he feels like he doesn't have a say in the matter but is against it
•A man said the stacks are not going to be high enough as there will be trees and buildings above the top of the stacks
According to the caps group the poor air quality shall mean the following for the health of children
•Increased risk of infant mortality
•Increased risk of children developing autism spectrum disorder
•Increased risk of developing asthma and allergies
•Impaired lung function and lung development in children and adolescents
•Increased risk of heart disease
•Increased risk of death from lung cancer
This would be a big concern for the residents in Wahroonga as half of them have or know children who go to school in the effected the area out of the 27 surveyed.

Hornsby shire council perspective
The Hornsby shire council are for the Northconex tunnel development.
Hornsby shire Mayor said the following
•“Council has campaigned for this for a long time and we’re thrilled that it’s happening”
•“This is going to give Pennant Hills Road back to the local community.”
•“This is great news. No longer will residents of Hornsby Shire have to carry the burden of vehicles, particularly trucks, clogging our roads,”
•“This is the missing link in the national freeway network and we can’t wait to see it happen.”
•“The benefits are countless: our roads will be safer, our neighbourhoods will be quieter and our air will be cleaner.
•“I’d like to thank the State Government for taking this action that will bring tremendous benefits to Hornsby Shire.”
The Hornsby shire council are happy about the tunnel for many reasons. One is that the stacks shall not be located with in it meaning improved air quality which shall also mean improved health. Also it shall be quieter.
